Valmiki : therefore ...an Adi kavi

I am on a vacation now., rather i have a lot of free time now.. u can call it either way, but all those points narrow down to only one thing...me being jobless ! and my struggle to beat this boredom. 1 strange thing that i attacked this month was 'Poetry'..! well i obviously (fortunately :P) did not attempt to write one, but yes...i did gave it a go, to understand it..

I have always hated everything related to peotry.... but now i read few books just for a change.. and nothing fascinated me as much as valmiki's !! study of the poem for sometime made me feel that Ramayana signified more as a poetry than as religious text.
Excelling in a field like poetry by raising a number of enthralling problems in his writings and engaging scholars too deeply to give discourses at any length on em is .. Incredible..!!

The Ramayana is a major item in the heritage of India; yet by the irony of our linguistic wealth and educational history the average graduate like me, who is sure to have studied at least one play of shakespeare and some poetry in english literature of great poets like keats and wordsworth... & of poets less great like herrick, predominantly find no acquaintance with the poetry of Valmiki.
And i now realized, that i have finished my educational career in profound ignorance of the greatest poetry, our land has inherited.

ohh now..! let me get a little thin about the topic..writings apart, even the Life of  adi kavi, poet of peots, who gave the world, an immortal epic Ramayana, will always be a greatest source of inspiration.
